I have investments not listed in the Freetrade app, how can I transfer my pension?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can’t transfer any shares that aren’t listed at Freetrade. However, you can still transfer your pension by:

  • Making a cash transfer

  • Transferring shares that are supported by Freetrade

You can view our full stock universe here, and check which shares are SIPP-eligible.

Transfer options:

  • Full cash transfer:
Your current provider will sell all your investments and transfer the proceeds to Freetrade as cash.

  • Partial cash transfer:
You can transfer an exact cash amount. If you hold multiple investments, you may instruct your provider on which ones to sell (non-eligible investments can remain with your current provider).

  • Full in-specie transfer:
Your provider will transfer over any eligible shares directly. If some shares can’t be transferred, we’ll contact you to decide whether to:

    • Sell the ineligible shares and transfer the cash

    • Proceed with a partial in-specie transfer

  • Partial in-specie transfer:
You can choose to transfer specific eligible investments and/or cash, leaving non-eligible shares with your current provider.
