What's an ETF?

An ETF or exchange traded fund is a fund that invests in a collection of stocks or assets. They allow you to invest in many different assets at once.

ETFs list on stock exchanges with shares that you can buy or sell throughout the day.

We have many ETFs available on Freetrade. You can purchase or sell any of these with a batch or instant order.

We don't charge any extra commissions or trading fees to buy or sell ETF shares, but the funds themselves will usually have management fees which are based on the amount that you invest. These are set out in the Key Information Document (KID) which you’ll see a link to on the stock’s page in the app.
