ETF and Investment Trust Ongoing Fees

A fee charged by Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Investment Trust providers for managing the product and other associated costs.

ETF and Investment Trust fees are deducted directly from a respective fund's price on a daily basis and are not charged by Freetrade.

These costs are reflected by a daily reduction in each of your ETF or Investment Trust holdings.

All fees related to these types of securities can be found within the Key Investor Information Document (KIID), which can be accessed in-app at the bottom of each ETF/Investment Trust page.

ETF and Investment Trust Transaction Fees

Transaction fees are incurred when a fund manager undertakes any transaction, e.g. in the course of rebalancing, corporate actions, and other costs incurred directly by a fund. Some fund managers waive transaction fees but tend to charge higher ongoing fees as a result of this.

These costs are reflected by a daily reduction in each of your ETF or Investment Trust holdings. All fees related to these types of securities can be found within the Key Investor Information Document (KIID), which can be accessed in-app at the bottom of each ETF/Investment Trust page.

ETF and Investment Trust Incidental Fees

These are performance fees charged by some fund managers when a fund exceeds a benchmark set by the fund manager.

These costs are reflected by a daily reduction in each of your ETF or Investment Trust holdings. All fees related to these types of securities can be found within the Key Investor Information Document (KIID), which can be accessed in-app at the bottom of each ETF/Investment Trust page.

Corporate Action Costs

Some types of corporate actions can incur varying costs on an ad hoc basis.

An example of these costs are American Depositary Receipt (ADR) fees and stamp duty charges which are incurred when converting a security to an alternative share class.

Withholding Tax

Withholding tax is a tax that is withheld on dividends prior to the dividend being paid. The rate at which the tax is withheld depends on the country of incorporation of the company paying the dividend.

Same Day Withdrawals

Where it has been necessary to process a same-day withdrawal for a customer, a £5 fee will be incurred. This fee is charged by our banking provider.
